Indeed, the supplementary coating
for covers made of polyurethane, explains the difference of
weight with a cover made of a natural textile.
However, that is not the only one
difference to point out.
A natural
cover is also long-lasting because the weaving of the textile is not
damaged after several washes at 60°C. That allows consequently to
maintain a good pores size of the cover for the allergens
filtration.
The
polyurethane coating is efficient against dust mites, but after few
washes the chemical substance removes of the cover and its
efficiency against dust mites disappears. In losing its chemical
coating washes after washes, the cover is finally as efficient as a
classical cotton sheet.
ProtecSom covers are indeed less
heavy than a cover with a polyurethane coating.
